i thought id type some thoughts about naruto and a certain symbol that keeps popping up in the early part of the shippuuden series. when things were going bad and the nine tails started to manifest. it would show the internal struggle that naruto has with the fox.
before shippuuden when naruto was a boy. it would show him walking in what looks like a storm drain or sewer. in one corner the fox is locked up. naruto is walking around in a trickle of water. whenever the nine tails gives naruto some of his chakra, it bubbles up through the water. at the time i didnt really know what the water and sewer were representing. but now i think i know.
here is some facts ive discovered. in shippuuden naruto is totally submerged in the water as the nine tails takes over his body. kakashi said naruto has four times more chakra than he does but he would have a 100 times more if he didnt have to suppress the nine tails all the time.
i am going to say that the water naruto is submerged in is a representation of his own chakra. that as a boy he had just a trickle but now he has a torrent. the sewer might represent his capacity for chakra. he so doesnt even know his own power :-P.
