The Circle of Friends
We meet on-line to have a great time...We laugh and we giggle
and smile at our screens.
We sit back and wonder what this all means.
We surf the Web, we travel afar,
We span thousands of mile without a car.
We watch conversations flowing on the screen.
We tell jokes and stories and know what they mean.
What are we looking for?
Where's the attraction?
How can we do this and get satisfaction?
Who are we?
Why are we here?
We are "The Circle of Friends",
made from a chain.
And we're here because friendship
is what we gain!
Born on-line formed by few.
We had no idea just what to do.
So we link our pages,
first one then two.
And wonder where we'll end up when we're through?
The circle will spread like a wild vine.
It will breathe and whisper
like the winds of time.
We are the "Circle of Friends",
made from a chain.
All of our motives are exactly the same.
Searching for friendships
all over the lands.
Linking our pages is like holding hands.
We are "The Circle of Friends"
made from a chain.
A chain without an end!!!
"Friends"
Written with a pen.Sealed with a kiss.
If you are my friend,
please answer this:
Are we friends Or are we not?
You told me once
But I forgot.
So tell me now And tell me true.
So I can say....... "I'm here for you."
Of all the friends I've ever met,
You're the one I won't forget.
And if I die Before you do,
I'll go to heaven And wait for you.
A Friend....

"The Three Trees"
Three trees on a hill in the woods. They were discussing their hopes and dreams.
The first tree said, "Someday I hope to be a treasure- chest to be filled with gold, silver and precious gems. I'd be decorated with intricate carving and everyone to see the beauty."
The second tree said, "Someday I will be a mighty ship. I'll take kings & queens across waters and sail to the corners of the world. Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my hull."
And the third tree said, "I want to be the tallest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the hill and think of the heavens and God and how close to them I am reaching. I'll be the greatest tree of all time and people will always remember me."
Years of praying for their dreams, a group of woodsmen came upon the trees.
One came to the first tree he said,"This is a strong tree, I'll sell the wood to a carpenter"... and he began cutting it down. The tree was happy, he knew that the carpenter would make him into a treasure chest.
At the second tree a woodsman said, "This is a strong tree too, I'll sell it to the shipyard." The second tree was happy, he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship.
When a woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was frightened because if they cut him down his dreams wouldn't come true. The woodsmen said, "I'll take this one too", and down it went.
When the first tree arrived at carpenters, and made into a feed box for animals. Then placed in a barn and filled with hay. This was notl what he had prayed for.
The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of being a mighty ship and carrying kings had come to an end.
The third tree was cut into large pieces and left alone in the dark. The years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams.
Then one day, a man and woman came to the barn. She gave birth and they placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time.
Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on the water, a great storm arose and the tree didn't think it was strong enough to keep the men safe. The men were afraid, and woke one of their crew members who were sleepingng through this storm. He stood and said "Peace" and the storm stopped. At this time, the tree knew that it had carried the King of Kings in its boat.
Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came to a stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of a hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as was possible, because Jesus had been crucified on it.
The moral of this story is that when things don't seem to be going your way, always know that God has a plan for you. If you place your trust in Him, He will give you great gifts. Each of the trees got what they wanted, just not in the way they had imagined. We don't always know what God's plans are for us. We just know that His ways are not our ways, but His ways are always best.
The Invitation
A woman saw 3 old men with long White beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them.
She said "I don't know you, but you must be hungry. Come have something to eat."
"We do not go into a House together," they replied.
"Why is that?" she wanted to know.
One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one. Pointing to another "He is Success." Then he added, "...and I am Love. Now discuss with your husband who do you want in your home?" The woman went and told her husband.
"How nice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!" His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"
Their daughter was listening and she jumped in.. "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"
"Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife.
The woman went and asked the 3 old men, "Which of you is Love? Come and be our guest." Love started toward the house & the other 2 followed him.
Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"
They replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love... ...wherever He goes we go with him.
Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!
